DRAWING FROM NATURE - Botanical Drawing….Draw from Nature with Diane Firtell

Bascom Lodge, Mt Greylock
Materials: Bring your own (paper, pencil(s), brushes, water color, pastel, etc)..
a limited supply of materials will be available for you to experiment with.
We’ll meet at Bascom Lodge, atop beautiful Mt Greylock….to begin the drawing process. Develop the skill to observe as we explore the scenic surroundings as we “land” on an easy walk around the mountain.
We’ll return to Bascom Lodge to start drawing, beginning with some basic drawing techniques involving relationship, simple exercises and the use of a variety of materials.
We will break for a 30 minute lunch around noon.
Lunch is available at the Bascom Lodge dining room (see www.bascomlodge.net for more information) or you are welcome to bring you own.
After lunch we will continue to draw. A discussion and presentation will explore the possibilities of transferring you own artwork through collage, to multiple surfaces..including art work, decorative flower pots, boxes, light switches and jewelry.

People have always climbed mountains to seek clarity and vision. Join veteran writing teacher Jennifer Browdy at the summit of Mt. Greylock for a special workshop in purposeful memoir: looking down at the landscape of your life through eagle eyes, attuned to pathways of movement and direction. What trails have you followed in your on-going search for meaning and purpose in your life? What signposts and guides have met you along the way? How can getting above it all, on the mountaintop, sharpen your vision of the journey still to come?
