The Art of Making Wine & Wine Tasting

with Kevin Collins

Kevin Collins, Winemaker at Black Birch Vineyard in Hatfield, Massachusetts will be talking about the art of making wine, with a focus on winemaking we can all do at home producing excellent well balance and complex wines.  He will talk about the process of creating beautiful wines and take you through two ways home winemakers generally choose to make their wines.  Kevin will then lead a short tasting of wines from his own cellar as part of this presentation.
Kevin Collins and his partner started making wine together almost a decade ago as a hobby expanding upon their appreciation for wines.  He has also worked as a part time winemaker for 3 years at Mineral Hills Winery in Florence Massachusetts.  About a year ago, after more than 20 years as a software developer Kevin was given the opportunity to turn a hobby into a career when Black Birch Vineyard offered him a full time Winemaker position.  This was both an exciting and unknown change, but an opportunity that could not be missed!
